The Confederation of Bus Carriers in Bulgaria (KAPB) was established in 2018 by seven branch associations in the field of motor transport, uniting about 200 medium and large companies in the sector and generating over half of the gross product produced in the branch.
A key goal of KAPB is a unified representation of the industry in the dialogue with state institutions. We have unanimity on the key topics for the industry, and this is a prerequisite for a good dialogue with the managers and achieving good results – both for the sector and for society. Contradictions on specific cases are discussed within the General Assembly of the Confederation, after which a vote is taken to decide which unified thesis the organization defends before the competent institutions and before the public.
The chairman of the confederation is Magdalena Miltenova – chairman of the Branch Union for Economic Initiatives in Transport, and her deputies are Maxim Petkov – chairman of the National Union of Carriers – Varna, and Kuzman Valev – chairman of the Corporation of Motor Carriers. It is managed on a rotational basis, and the main governing body is the General Assembly, where all members of the organization have the right to vote.
The confederation has a comprehensive concept for the development of bus transport, with specific texts for regulatory changes. The main priorities are aimed at clarifying business and limiting unfair competition, ensuring road safety and implementing the best European practices and norms. Our direction is one – complete harmonization of our legislation in the field of motor transport with the European one.
