Eng. Georgi Miloshev, Deputy Chairman of the Confederation of Bus Carriers in Bulgaria, attended Busworld Turkey 2026 at the invitation of Mieke Glorieux – owner and Managing Director of Busworld.
The exhibition took place from June 17 to 19, 2026, at the Istanbul Expo Center and marked the 11th edition of Busworld Turkey. This year’s forum confirmed Turkey’s growing role as a production and export hub for buses, components, and technological solutions for public transport.
Busworld Turkey 2026 brought together 161 exhibitors, while the exhibition area reached 11,358 sq. m, representing a 15% increase compared to the previous edition. The expanded international participation also made a strong impression – in addition to leading Turkish companies, new participants from China, Germany, Italy, Mexico, and Taiwan also joined the forum.
The main conclusion from the exhibition is that bus transport is entering a stage of parallel development of several technologies. Electric buses are already an important part of manufacturers’ offerings, but alongside them, solutions with diesel propulsion, CNG, hydrogen, trolleybus systems, and autonomous technologies were also presented. This shows that the transition in the sector will not move in a single direction, but will depend on specific routes, infrastructure, the financial capabilities of operators, and the real needs of passengers.
Among the highlights of the exhibition were new models and solutions from manufacturers such as Anadolu Isuzu, BMC, Bozankaya, HABAŞ, IVECO BUS, Karsan, Otokar, and TEMSA, as well as technologies from leading suppliers of components and systems for safety, electrification, fleet management, and maintenance.
Specific market deals during the forum also attracted interest. At Busworld Turkey, IVECO BUS and its official dealer FSM Demirbaş Otomotiv signed an agreement for the delivery of 20 articulated 18-meter STREETWAY buses, produced in Turkey and intended for high-passenger-flow urban routes.
For Bulgarian bus operators, the exhibition is an important indicator of the direction in which the market, technologies, and requirements for public transport are developing. The topics of fleet renewal, energy efficiency, operating costs, safety, and accessibility will become increasingly important for both urban and intercity transport.
